Limited opening procedure to comply with Covid-19 Social distancing rules

The range will be open on Club days for a prebooked limited time only

Until further notice the range will only be open to a limited number of shooters who can request a time slot using the booking form below.  Strict social distancing measures will be required at all times so no more than 4 shooters will be allowed on the range at any time.  2 range officers will oversee safety procedures.  Please follow their instructions at all times

Booking Procedure

Use the form below to request a time slot. Shooting will be limited to one hour slots, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. You can request your preferred session but your time slot will be allocated depending upon demand and you will be notified via Email of your particular time slot. Also on the booking form you will be asked to specify your firearm type. The use of multiple firearms during your session will not be permitted, this is for two reasons:

firstly, so that appropriate targetry can be prepared for you (you will not be able to use your own target frame as the target shed will be off limits).

Secondly, you will only be able to use shooting and safety equipment that you can carry in one trip (multiple trips back and forth between the shooting point and your car will not be permitted) so pre prepare all your equipment prior to entering the range.

We do not yet know how many people will request a slot and we will do our best to accommodate as many as safely possible, however, if we are over subscribed and your booking request is declined we will make sure you have priority for a future date.

Arrival Procedure

Please arrange to arrive no more than 10 minutes before your allocated time slot and wait in or by you vehicle until called forward by the RO.  Remember to keep a minimum of two metres from other members and when called forward make sure you have all your required equipment with you.  Proceed directly to your allocated firing point, a mat and target will be set up ready for you.  If you are later than 5 minutes after the time slot is due to start you may lose your slot! (this will be at the discretion of the CRO dependant on your position on the firing line and other shooters in your session)

Shooting Procedure

You will have one hour to enjoy your shooting overseen by a range officer as usual. Pre prepared targets suitable for your designated firearm will be in place and should a reface be necessary during your session the guns will be cleared as usual and the RO only will go forward to patch or reface.

Finishing procedure

Once your session is concluded and your firearm has been proved safe, collect all your equipment but wait at the firing point until the range officer indicates that you can leave.  Make your way directly to your vehicle maintaining a minimum of two metres from other members at all time.  Hopefully these measures will ensure your safety and allow us to enjoy our sport during these difficult times.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Stay Safe.
